Reynaers Aluminium now offers Class 2 Qualicoat paint finish as standard due to its enhanced durability, superior UV resistance and the overall endurance of Class 2 paints. 

Class 2 paints are designed to withstand harsh conditions and high traffic areas with increased durability, improved gloss retention and superior UV resistance. The new products have passed extensive testing - undergoing a three-year Florida weather exposure test where they must achieve 75% gloss retention – to ensure they retain their appearance and functionality over time, making them a better choice for long-term use.

Offered at no extra cost, Class 2 Qualicoat finishes are now available in over 250 of Reynaers' colour offering.

The biggest advantages of Class 2 powders, are the following:

• Improved gloss retention: to create and maintain a consistent, beautiful finish.
• Sustainable solution: to extend the lifetime of your windows even more.

Both coating certifications offer an excellent finishing touch to your project. However, you will notice a colour difference between Class 1 and Class 2 powders of the same RAL colour and finish. What is more, because of Class 2's improved performance, the profiles retain their vibrant colours for a longer period of time. 

To ensure uniform aesthetics and overall durability, we advise you to avoid mixing Class 1 and Class 2 colours within a single project.

Class 2 by its nature, provides a greater longevity of colour and gloss, dependant on environmental characteristics, where over time, the colour of class 1 coated materials will deteriorate at a faster rate. With this in mind, we strongly recommend you avoid mixing class 1 and class 2 finishes within a single project. Additionally, any specifier of finish and colour has always to be mindful of the powder reference and source to ensure colour consistency.

Florida testing is a widely popular method for estimating resistance to outdoor elements. The region’s subtropical climate is an ideal high intensity benchmark when it comes to measuring humidity, heat, rain, and UV resistance. If the profiles can withstand the (simulated) Florida climate, you are sure of a quality weatherproof solution. When coating powders pass the test, Qualicoat attributes a Class 1, Class 2 or Class 3 rating, depending on the achieved performance levels.
