Energy

We commit to reduce the energy consumption of buildings by improving the energy performance of our products.

Reynaers is committed to designing sustainable solutions and puts great effort into researching and developing energy efficient systems. This ambition is translated into the development and marketing of innovative solutions which allow more efficient energy management of buildings such as profiles with high thermal insulation values, double-skin façade and  brise-soleil.

We have set up a program to reduce our own energy consumption. We invest in sustainable energy solutions such as LED lighting and solar power. Furthermore, to continuously reduce our environmental impact, we maintain the international standard ISO 14001 certificate for Environmental Management since 2011. We continue to raise awareness among our employees of the energy (and resources) they consume individually.

By 2019, the Reynaers Campus will be powered by 100% renewable energy in partnership with Eoly.

We recently finished an extensive, energy-efficient extension and renovation project of the buildings at the company headquarters. All subsidiaries who plan renovations or extensions go the extra green mile to achieve the best energy efficient and future proof realisations.

Mobility

We commit ourselves to make sustainable transportation possible

Every year, almost 6,000 full truckloads leave our distribution centre at our headquarters, heading to clients in Belgium and abroad. To reduce the ecological impact of our transport, we continuously analyse and optimize our transport routes. We select our transport partners for their green commitments and the density of their networks in the concerning region to avoid empty kilometres. Our customers benefit from our strong logistics organisation, which enables us to quickly deliver products from our various distribution centres worldwide. The purchase department always considers local purchasing (quality vs transport).

At our headquarters, we actively promote our WOOW mobility plan. We offer our employees several advantages if they go by bike (company bicycles or e-bikes), public transport or when carpooling. Next to this, the CO2 emission is a defining decision criterion in the selection of company cars. The new parking at the campus now has several parking spaces with charging stations for electric cars.

In the headquarters, 25 rooms have the best video conference technology installed, which reduce business trips extensively.

 

People Commitment

We commit ourselves to promote the well-being and personal development of our employees, stimulate diversity and support inclusion of everyone within our company.

Our employees benefit from personal support & coaching. We organize several internal training programs to enhance job-specific skills and provide thorough training to new employees. To promote inclusion, we set up intensive language programs for our foreign colleagues. Every 2 years, we distribute an ‘Employee Satisfaction Survey’ to measure the engagement of our people and to find out how we can create the ideal workplace. Moreover, we try to create a true Reynaers community by bringing our people together on various events.

At Reynaers, we enable our employees to better manage their work-life balance by offering flexible working hours and working-time models.

We organize and support different actions and social organisations. For example, Reynaers headquarters has been organising a yearly Community Day since 2007. On this day, Reynaers volunteers team up and devote an entire working day to several social organisations.

Safety

We commit ourselves to guarantee a maximum safety level of buildings and strive fro safe working conditions for our employees.

In order to guarantee full safety of our systems, we perform several tests. The effect of soft and heavy body impact and burglar attempts are meticulously tested at the Reynaers Technology Centre. Tests on the impact of bullets, smoke tightness and leakage tests as well as the resistance of systems against fire breakthrough are performed in notified test labs.

Every employee should always be able to rely on a safe work environment. It is our first priority to provide a safe and healthy working environment for our employees. We provide a wide range of personal protective equipment, organize awareness days and training sessions and make dedicated investments to improve on-site safety. Our safety standards are also oriented towards the relevant specifications of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 management systems.

Since physical movement is vital for staying healthy, we stimulate our employees to do sports through various initiatives.
